The Durham Bulls originated in 1902 as the Durham Tobacconists, winning their first game 8-5! Since then they have continued to be a profitable and winning team and a huge part of the City of Durham's history. In 1913, the Durham Bulls's played their first game with their new name. Now, years later they have given hundred's of thousands of kids, grown up's, families and friends the enjoyment of having a minor league baseball team in their back yards.
In 1987, the Durham Bulls became a house hold name around the country, not just in our own back yards, when Kevin Costner, Susan Sarandon and Tim Robbins stared in Bull Durham the movie. The Durham Bulls' famous "snorting bull" was originally to be used only as a prop for the movie, but has remained a Bulls' staple ever since. Make sure you get your tickets today to see the "famous" bull snorting while you cheer our local "Durham Bulls" to victory.
