The Triangles Premier Golf Practice Facility

Capital Golf Center is located just off US 1, about a mile north of I -540 on the Northbound side.  The range, pro shop and putt-putt golf course are open to the public 7 days a week. The Range features 25 Sheltered and Heated Hitting bays for year round practice (a Triangle Exclusive at Capital Golf Center), lighting for night play, an updated sand bunker and grass bunker and PGA golf instruction.  They are also the exclusive location in the Triangle to get the pattened Tom Wishon Custom Club Fitting. 

New Custom Club Fitting technology EXCLUSIVELY at Capital Golf Center!                          

The newest and best custom fitting technology by Tom Wishon Golf Technology is MOI (moment of inertia) matching of the entire club.  This new technology enables a clubfitter to produce a set of clubs in which each iron requires exactly the same amount of force to be set in motion - the same MOI for each club.  This new technology can make a 3-Iron feel identical to a pitching wedge so that a golfer can more easily repeat a swing through a bag.  Under this logic, the golfer could develop more consistent tempo that would in turn result in more on-center strikes. 

How does MOI matching work: A player brings in the iron he or she feels most confident with, 7-iron or longer (short irons are excluded because their higher lofts make them universally preferred).  The fitter then hooks the club up to an electronic scale that rocks it back and forth to determine MOI in on operations.  The software then calculates the modifications necessary for each iron to produce identical MOI across your set of clubs.  Woods can also be MOI-matched, but new data must be gathered.  Call (919) 570-6500 to make an appointment to give your clubs the newest, most state-of-the-art technology.

- Featuring Jeff Robinson, rated one of the best teachers in North Carolina by GOLF DIGEST. He has 20 years of experience teaching all levels of play. His students include a Methodist College Women's 2003 National Champion golf team member.
